the little paradise in the southern tip of Cebu-- Eden Resort, Santander

more than month ago, i went back to Cebu to attend my friend's lovely and blissful wedding. and to take advantage of being there, i decided to see the beach first. after all, what is a Cebu trip without the beach?

the 30-minute tour at the Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia

i don't know if i was only influenced by online reviews, but the Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia was the place i was most curious about in Kuala Lumpur during my short jaunt there. hence, it's where i decided to go first before anywhere else.

the joy and fear of falling-- the Malaysian bungee jump

i had waited long enough not to do this. my friend Mash who was supposed to fly with me to Kuala Lumpur didn’t come for some reason and my other friend Riz (of lamyerda.com), of all parts of the body, got her lower left leg burnt from a motorcycle mishap (thank God it wasn’t that serious) and it would have bled with the rope that had to be tied tightly through her legs even if there was a towel to cushion the grip. what was supposed to be an adventure i should be sharing with my two close friends was just about to become a solo flight. i was already there, at Sunway Lagoon, in another country. i just had to do my first bungee jump.

San Juanico Bridge at high noon

i arrived in Tacloban from Naval at around 10am and the sun heat was a killer. i had to take my brunch yet and then be told by the locals of varied instructions as to where i can take a ride going to THE San Juanico Bridge. yes, that longest bridge i first saw only in drawing in my first or second grade Sibika at Kultura textbook. just like seeing the Banaue Rice Terraces, i felt a pang of nostalgia there even though this was just the actual first time i laid my eyes on it.

25 in Sambawan Island

i guess this will be the last time i'm going to be vocal about my age when my birthday comes. 26 seems to me  the start of old age. haha. so i made sure i enjoyed celebrating my day this year. through travel and solitude, the goal was achieved. i was torn between going to Palaui Island or returning to Coron until i saw a picture of an island called Sambawan. it was my first time seeing it and when i knew it was in Biliran, instantly i booked a flight to Tacloban.

a slice of heaven in Dicasalarin Cove

i don’t know if it's the fact that we were the only visitors of the cove that day, but the barely touched jaw-dropping beauty that is Dicasalarin was something that we, and i quote my buddy Mash, “couldn’t take wholly”.

mishaps of the tenderfeet -- the Mt. Pulag climb

it was 5pm when we arrived at the Ambangeg Ranger Station, the jump-off point for hiking Mt. Pulag National Park. seeing others who were also about to climb in full gear, we felt so inadequate. two of us were wearing short pants and sandals only. three didn't have thick windbreaker jackets. all four of us were clueless what was then awaiting us.

not your ordinary first-timer waves -- surfing in Sabang, Baler

doing it like a pro

as i mentioned in my previous post, this was the main event of our Baler trip. surfing, yay! we almost lost the chance to do this because of the weather but as it turned out, it made it all the more exciting.

effortless Baler

Baler went beyond my expectations. before i got to visit it, i had this prejudice of the place as boring and just plain historical. i was right that it's a little boring there, but it's not just all about the remnants of the past that the place can offer. and i'm not just talking about surfing for which it is also known. Baler has magnificent spots which it can truly boast about.

a true-to-life temple run

i don't play any mobile or online game at the moment so i don't know if the title makes me sound a little shrewd or a huge retard. either way, i'll let it be because i literally ran after temples during my short time in Bangkok.

a bolder reyfist in 2012

it's the adrenaline rush that made my last year one of the best times of my life. i traveled so much, not for pleasure, but to challenge my physical capacity. this was really unintentional though.
