cebu meets ali (part II)

so first day in the office, i gave myself an award for being the earliest bird. still for training, i was the very first to arrive at the office. when my co-trainees started coming one by one, i was with awe that most of us came from mindanao. amazing really!

second to come, i knew jess who was from davao. then there's irene who's from cagayan de oro. someone's from msu also and that's bex. we also have a classmate who was a dentist. i never thought call center culture could be as diverse as this.

the first week was called the technical pre-employment training. indeed, all the things discussed were very technical. it was fun though because i was able to be "enlightened" about the things i was introduced to back in the university where everything that was taught was as vague as my future when i used to study there. so now i know already what's the purpose of AGP, expansion slot, sound and video cards, etc.

the last day of training is what they call ops-val. well, i don't even know what exactly it stands for. but we had to be evaluated based on what we learned from the training. luckily, i was the first to take it. huh! i was okay while i was interviewed by nez from the recruitment. she said she was contented by my answers although, she didn't want me easily giving up. she said that because in the problems that she gave me, after giving one or two answers, i would stop and say i can't think of anything more. but when she pushed me more to give additional inputs, i was able to do so. so as a piece of advice, she reminded me to "never give up easily". love it.

then i passed it. and for the following weeks, there's more people to meet and new trainers to be with... more experiences to take and more money to make... :)

cebu meets ali (part I)

two weeks here in cebu and i got so much to tell about my experiences, i don't know where to start. but first things first. i wanna make this chronological. yay!

so before i left davao at the airport, STARSTRUCK! hahaha. the forgotten startruck finalist was there. chuck allie is his name (duh! forgotten but i know who he is). well, i just made a realization from this experience. on tv, he looked like a small guy but he looks bigger in real life. this implies that if ever i'd be on tv, i'd look so tiny. ouch!

now in the plane, i was expecting some snacks that the flight attendants would serve but there was none. i was clueless why, until we finally landed in mactan int'l airport. the ticket was a bit of a lie saying that the flight would take 55 minutes. instead, we were on air just for 20 minutes. it's as if the plane hadn't remained at its highest altitude for seconds. it just went up then descended right away. hehehe.

welcome to cebu! from the airport i had to go directly to SM. wow! instant shopping, but no. i got to go there because that's where jk's fetching me. i almost got mad at him but he's good enough to have treated me lunch at Mcdo. finally after getting hungry in the plane.

the day went on. i met joy and agnes. they got me into a little tour around cebu. i was a little homesick but i thank them coz i'd probably crying so many tears without them...

let's just skip the second day and move on with my first day in the office... (to be continued)
