the dreamy Malcapuya Island

this island made my heart really skip a beat the moment i caught a glimpse of its white-sand shore from a distance. i wanted to run as fast as i could to get to it but i couldn't. it's like the bliss that i felt right there was so enormous it made my body so heavy and instead, everything went in slowmo while we were walking towards it. yeah, that kind of feel in the movies.

the weather that day couldn't be any more perfect. the sun gave us summer heat and it's as if the very white sand of the beach was also illuminating. the sky was so blue making the sea the same.

there's a hill that one could climb up to view the island and the horizon from an elevated point. from there, you can see the lovely shoreline framed by the branches of the trees.

from another side, you'll get this great view. this photo is my favorite shot from this Coron trip. the sea, the islands, the wind, and the heat. it's every element captured in this photo.

the island experience would be nothing without basking in the sun of course.

because of the whiteness of the shore, it's just so hard to prevent any shot from overexposing at around noontime. and someone just made use of that hammock there.

our lunch cost 400php. we had fresh squid and crabs, which we'd been eating abundantly on that trip, with the heavenly sawsawan all prepared by our boat drivers. and fresh buko juice, too.

and here's Ate Mye pulling off three chic "islander" looks. hehe.

we still had ample time to visit another island which goes by the name of Banana but we chose to just stay in Malcapuya and enjoy it more. that's how charmed we were by this island. the beach was quite dreamy and like with any other beautiful dream, i could only wish that our time there was much, much longer.
