falling for Tinago Falls

one of the few times i've fallen madly in love was when i got to see Iligan City's Tinago Falls. it was like my first love at first sight, and the "few times" there applies to places and human beings alike, by the way. haha.

the long-haired me years ago

i first went there with a friend in the summer of 2007 and i just couldn't get enough of it, i went there for three more times with different groups of friends. i was still studying in Mindanao State University in Marawi City when i made those visits so it's been four years since my last glimpse of this majestic body of water but my memories of it are still fresh.

with my over-achiever friends, one of them hailed Bayaning Pilipino by ABS-CBN
and another already an Assemblywoman in ARMM

it was the very first falls i saw so the next ones i've seen haven't impressed me that much because this set the bar so high.

Hamil and Yas just a few steps away

getting to the falls was already quite an experience. the 500 steps down to the water basin was full of suspense-- when the falls begins to reveal itself between the trees' trunks and branches and the sound of the waterfalls' gushing becomes louder and louder as you get closer. your exhaustion would just be overcome instantly by profound admiration when you get to see the whole picture.
